In conjunction with the annual
sausage tasting at Wolfsen’s Meat
& Sausage, community
organizations (Lions, Rotary, IOOF,
Soroptimists, Chamber of Commerce, OLM School, 4-H,
ROP, GHS Band Boosters, GHS Athletics Boosters, etc.), aspire to turn the occasion into an
Oktoberfesta (hybrid of
Oktoberfest
and Festa).
In addition to the usual selection of
fine sausages from Wolfsen’s, Oktoberfesta attendees will be able to
augment their sausage tasting with beer and wine, non-alcoholic
beverages, sausage sandwiches, ethnic
pastries, and assorted delicacies and snacks. Besides food and
refreshment, festival-goers can dance to the music of the Joe Smiell
Band. As an added treat, German,
Portuguese,
Mexican, and Basque
dance ensembles will be performing.
